Who We Are

The Women’s Resource Center was established in 1991 to address the need for programs and services specifically for women in Alamance County and to provide a center conveniently located to serve as a clearinghouse for information for all women in the community. The Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that serves Alamance County as well as parts of the surrounding counties of Caswell, and Person. The WRC’s 375+ WRC sponsors, donors and volunteers support the needs of women in our community and work collectively to empower women and enrich their lives.

What We Do

The Women’s Resource Center’s mission is simple. We empower women to improve and enrich their lives, supporting them through life transitions to achieve stability, self-sufficiency, and success. When women succeed, communities thrive.

Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive culture, free of racism and discrimination, where individuals can achieve success, reach financial independence, and experience belonging in all social and professional spaces.

The Board of Directors and Staff of Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County are devastated by the overturn of the Roe vs. Wade decision after almost 50 years of precedence and multiple generations of women fighting for our reproductive rights.  This greatly impacts the health of women right here in Alamance County and across the nation, eliminating access to safe healthcare. We will continue in our fight for women’s equality including the right to make their own reproductive health choices.

It is the policy of the Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County to assure that all individuals have the right to make their own reproductive decisions. We provide honest and nonjudgmental resource and referrals with regard to reproductive options.

In order to enable individuals to make and implement their own informed decisions, the Women’s Resource Center provides information about services related to sexuality, reproduction, contraception, parenthood, adoption and abortion.

Therefore, the Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County is a pro-choice organization.

Why This Matters

A community is strengthened by women leading self-sufficient and productive lives. Our vision is a community strengthened by women leading self-sufficient, fulfilling, and productive lives. When women succeed, communities thrive!
