- Savvy Women Get Organized
Join WRC in partnership with Pinnacle Wealth Partners as we learn how Savvy Women Get Organized! This great session is part of a quarterly Financial Literacy sessions which are designed to engage women in an open dialogue about various financial topics and to educate women further about financial matters with the intention of empowering women to make wise financial decisions. This fun and informative event will be Thursday April 6th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at It’s All Good: Southern Kitchen. Networking with refreshments at 5:30 and the session begins at 6:00 pm
- Business Success Principles Workshop
Leslie Flowers is back for April and she has a hot topic for us this month! “Are YOU Asking for what YOU deserve and getting PAID?? Join this dynamic and information workshop here at the WRC on Thursday April 6th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Don’t miss hearing Leslie Flowers, award winning women’s advocate, tell us what we all need to know about business.
- Breaking Up and Moving On
Women’s Resource Center is offering our popular workshop “Breaking Up and Moving On” for women who are facing separation, divorce and child custody issues. This month to give you greater privacy as well as more convenience we will hold the workshop by phone! You can call us here at the office, we will explain the process and give you the easy to follow instructions on how to participate in the conference call. Then on April the 12th at 12:30 pm you will call the number provide and join the call! You can even call in on your lunch hour! Attorney Whitney Stanley will answer your questions on this important topic.
- Mebane Tech Talk Night
Please join the WRC in partnership with Alamance For Freedom and the Mebane and Burlington Police Depts. on Wednesday April 12th from 7 pm to 8 :30 pm at the Mebane Arts and Community Center as we discuss what our children are doing online and how to teach them to be smart, safe and respectful digital citizens. The session is free but you are encouraged to register.
- Advance Health Care Planning. Let’s Talk
On Thursday April 13th WRC and Hospice and Palliative Care of Almance / Caswell will offer an educational workshop on planning for and executing Advanced Health Care directives and the documents that you need to have in place. We will offer two sessions – one from 1 pm to 3 pm and an evening session from 5 pm to 7 pm. Both session will have social workers on site to assist with filling out a HCPOA and Living Wills. The sessions are free and open to the public but we do need you to register. Please click here to sign up!
- 20th Annual Herb Festival
The Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County is thrilled to announce our 20th Annual Herb Festival. This years festival will be held on April 20th, 21st and 22nd.
Thursday evening begins at 6:00 pm with a member -only preview party. You are welcome to come and join at the door!
Friday hours are 8:30 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
We will have a great selection of Certified Organic Herbs, Perennials, Annuals, Vegetable & Heirloom Tomato Plants. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and help with plant selections.
There will be a raffle for a beautiful Mark Hewitt Pottery Vase and a Gift Card Tree! Tickets are 1 for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00.
Tickets will be available at the festival or in advance at the WRC!
In addition, this year TS Designs has created a commemorative apron that we will be selling for $20.oo
- March Goal Setting with Leslie Flowers
Join us as Leslie continues the discussion on how we can reach our goals with practical and logical steps. Come learn the secrets to accomplishing goals. Thursday March 2nd at 1:00 pm. The workshop will be held here at the Women’s Resource Center. There is no charge, but we do ask you to sign up since seating is limited. Click here to reserve your seat!
- Women Connecting Women – Career Management
This six session workshop is open to all women who are interested in seeking employment. The classes meet every Tuesday and Thursday here at the center. Class are from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and you can attend all or just one. This class is a great springboard for your thinking process as you prepare to transition in work. All classes are at no cost.

- Growing up and Liking It
Every mother wants to be sure her daughter is prepared for all the changes that come with growing up. To help smooth this transition into adolescence, the Women’s Resource Center offers our very popular class “Growing up and Liking it” This workshop is for mothers and daughters ages 9 to 12. The workshop is free but registration is required. The next session is Sunday March the 5th at 2:00 pm at our center. 411 B West Fifth Street in downtown Burlington. - Spring Wine Dinner and Fundraiser @ Prego’s Trattoria
