August Working Women’s Wednesday

We are delighted to welcome Amal Khdour as our Speaker this Month.
Amal Khdour has been a dedicated member of the Alamance County community since 2004. A passionate humanitarian and tireless advocate, she has led numerous efforts to support local refugee families and neighbors in need—organizing food and clothing drives, volunteering in the Alamance-Burlington School System, and actively engaging in interfaith initiatives through the Burlington Masjid.
In 2009, Amal founded the Al-Aqsa Community Clinic, a free healthcare clinic originally based in Greensboro. As the clinic’s impact and reach grew, it relocated to Burlington in 2017. Today, Al-Aqsa continues to serve uninsured individuals who fall outside the coverage of Medicaid and Medicare. Entirely volunteer-run, the clinic is a vital lifeline for many in the community, offering compassionate, no-cost care to those who need it most.
Amal’s commitment to service reflects a deep belief in community, dignity, and access for all.
